DIVORCE
Under current divorce law, in order to prove that the marriage has irretrievably broken down, the Petitioner needs to use one of five reasons.

1. Adultery
2. Unreasonable behaviour
3. Desertion
4. Two years’ separation with consent
5. Five years’ separation without consent

We do not have no-fault divorce even though there has been various discussions about introducing no-fault divorces. Currently parties will have to agree to the divorce if there is no fault and they wish to divorce in less than two years.
